Electric cargo bicycles are becoming proven alternatives to vans for small businesses. In 2024–2026 many new models offer 300–550 lb payloads and 40–100+ mi ranges, at prices roughly $1,500–$12,000. Leading contenders include long-tail designs (e.g. Lectric XPedition2, RadWagon 5, Yuba Mundo, Tern Quick Haul) and short-tail/utility bikes (e.g. Aventon Abound SR, RadRunner Max, Specialized Globe Haul ST, Tern HSD). For example, the Lectric XPedition2 (two 840 Wh batteries) carries 450 lb total and up to 300 lb on its rear rack. The Yuba Mundo EP8 can haul up to 550 lb (≈250 kg) with a 504 Wh battery.
