The Research Archive is useful for recall and prior-work discovery, but Architecture Notes should only contain current, curated, non-stale material.

Current rule

  • /reports/ remains an evidence-bounded research archive: ordinary canonical HTML reports are index-follow, user-confirmed sensitive reports are search-only/noindex, and raw Markdown/JSON resources are noindex.
  • /docs/ is the curated long-term Architecture Notes layer.
  • A report does not become Architecture Notes material just because it exists.
  • Report-derived material must be current, rewritten, scoped, and mapped to a compact .uai record before it is listed in the active docs index.

Retired from active docs index

v8.8.27 retired neuralwikis-neurowikis-evaluation-candidate-summary.md to docs/_retired-v8.8.27/ because its source reports are stale/recheck-required and need live revalidation before reuse.

Older version-specific wizard, safety-anchor, report-candidate, and site-update logs were moved to docs/_retired-v8.8.26/ or removed from active JSON indexes. They remain historical package context only and should not steer future agents unless explicitly reopened.

Promotion checklist

  1. Confirm the report is still current.
  2. Check whether the report describes a public site, a draft, a prototype, or a strategy concept.
  3. Remove obsolete implementation details.
  4. Rewrite the content into professional Architecture Notes language.
  5. Add frontmatter with source status and last reviewed UTC.
  6. Point a compact .uai file to the curated note.
  7. Update docs/index.json, assets/data/research-docs.json, and the memory manifest.
